This is a great embroidery project idea to help improve your satin stitch.
Whether you have tried to do satin stitch before, and just couldn’t get it right, or are completely new to embroidery - this kit will help you to create something you are proud of. The key to creating a really even, flat satin stitch is practice - the more you do it, the more consistent your stitches will become & the better your embroidery will look. This is why we have designed this kit - it mainly uses crewel wool, mixed with a little bit of stranded cotton. You won’t find many embroidery kits that use crewel wool, but it’s one of our favourite threads here in the studio - it has a lovely texture, and being thicker than stranded cotton, makes it easier for you to learn how to create a really smooth satin stitch. Alongside satin stitch, our dragonfly embroidery kit also uses backstitch and is finished off with seed bead details to add a hint of shine and sparkle. Our detailed instructions, packed full of tips, step by step directions, illustrated diagrams and photographs will help you along the way to becoming confident in executing a really consistent satin stitch.
